School was delayed by striking teachers this year(the law says teachers striking is illegal; what an inspiration to the students of the district!), so this month has been a nail-biter. Plus the mind drought is still on, but I was able to push out a few pics of the "kids." I wanted to show the less sweet side of my lovely Aiko, so I had her attempt to fix something on the Lancer's bridge. Then I let Mike Judge see her maintenance methods....

I rediscovered anime this summer! I used to be from the generation that first saw anime in black & white; Astro Boy, Gigantor, the Eighth Man, and even Speed Racer. When Harmony Gold butcher- er, ahem, altered three mecha-themed shows to create the Robotech saga, I drooled over every episode along with my sons. We also saw movie releases, like Captain Harlock, Appleseed, Dagger of Kamuri and others. This summer I was able to download Tenchi Muyo (both feature movies and series), Avatar: The Last Airbender (technically not exactly anime, but a ripping good series), and (surprise!) K-ON! They went with my Macross and Princess Mononoke downloads, and someday I'll burn them onto a disc for preservation.
